The Lincoln county Fairgrounds is a central hub for summer fun to locals and visitors alike. Lincoln Fairgrounds's expanse of green grass makes it a favorite spot for outdoor events in Wyoming. Lane Cheney, a previous attendee of the Lincoln County fair, says it's the “Best fair in Wyoming. The whole thing takes place on lush grass, not hot pavement.” (August 2020, google reviews)

This year's 2021 County Fair will be held August 7th-11th and is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Fair includes a full parade, rodeo, demolition derby, livestock and agriculture competitions, free entertainment, food and merchandise vendors, carnival rides and much, much more.

Hailey Gunter describes the fair as one of the best she has been to, complimenting it for its “Super good selection of rides” and short waiting lines. Another plus Hailey mentioned was that the fair has “free entry and parking” (August 2020, google reviews). Afton's community works hard to make the event family friendly and affordable.

The Lincoln County fair board has held the fair for years, bringing in talent all across the board. Some of the greatest entertainment groups the U.S. has to offer come to the fair, including the Monster X tour, The Vocalist, The Casperson Mini Bulls group and the PRCA Rodeo. Each of these groups brings high-quality entertainment to the table for inexpensive admission fees.

The Monster X tour has been around since 2009. Their show features wheelie competitions, racing, and freestyle competitions; and sometimes including demolition derbies, mud bogs, and quad racing. Come prepared for loud, action-packed fun.

The Vocalist is a singing competition group, formally known as Swift Idol. Only a handful of the best vocalists are picked among applicants to perform on the night of the show. This year's celebrity judge will be David Archeleta, who will also perform at the competition (August 9th at 7pm). To see contestants, visit The Vocalist facebook page.

The Casperson Mini Bull Riding group travels throughout Utah and Idaho with a wide range of bulls from rookie to advanced. Whether you come to watch or come to compete, you will be on the edge of your seat with their wild west entertainment.

Speaking of wild west entertainment, PRCA Rodeo will also be in town. The PRCA is the oldest and biggest rodeo group in the world. They are bringing their world class cowboys and top-performing livestock to Afton and prize money to the winners to the various competitions including steer wrestling, team roping, and barrel racing.
